thepat|man's environmental policy
As thepat|man I believe the environment is important to you, me and everyone.
As thepat|man I believe a policy is what you do, not what you say you are going to do, or would like to think that you do, but probably don't because you're so big the whole thing is dehumanised and written in the third person.
Therefore this is a description of what I do to ensure environmental responsibility.
- I use as little paper as I can. I still use loads and am always looking for ways of using less.
- Any waste paper, either that I produce or that I receive I shread and put in the recycling bag.
- I switch off the computer and the lights when I'm not using them. During the day I work by sunlight.
- I use recycled toner cartridges in my printer.
- I use "Stationery on demand" so my letterheads and other literature do not exist until they are needed and are printed individually.
- I communicate on the phone or by e-mail wherever possible.
- I drive a Smart FourTwo (thepat|car). It does 60.1MPG and emits 112 G/KG of CO2. It is serviced and maintained regularly to keep it efficient and safe.
- I buy supplies from companies that are environmentally aware.
- My most recent instrument purchase was a carbon neutral Seawrd Primetest 350
- I edit this policy as and when I believe it necessary.
